Following The Sims 2, fans have been able to create different clothes, household items, poses and even behavioural traits for their Sims - and they seem to get more creative with each passing. Released a couple of months ago and further updated this week, WickedWoohoo is a mod that allows players to do an extraordinary number of new sex-related acts within The Sims 4. A lot of people are saying that this is a weird request. Honestly, I want a suicide mod, just so that I can make it so sims can be depressed. The teenage sim I've got right now is basically supposed to be a really depressed teenager, so I'd like it if that was an option, just in case I decide to have that happen.

I love the Sims. I can get totally lost in the game. I even love looking through the incredible mods people make for the game. Imagine my surprise and delight to find that people have put in mental health mods! Of course I had to try them out. Here is my review of the ones I’ve played so far…

PTSD: I was really intrigued by this one since I have PTSD. I have to say it’s only ok. The cool thing about it is the different moods it affects, Dazed, Tense, Sad, all of the moods that definitely come from dealing with triggers and flashbacks. It also pops up at random, which is also pretty true to the disorder. However I’m a bit disappointed that there is nothing you can do to alleviate how long you have those negative moods. Normally when you get negative moods you can do things like journaling or yoga to bring the time down, but with the PTSD mod absolutely nothing helps, which isn’t really true to life. I know if I do meditating or journaling I can alleviate even severe symptoms. So I give this a 6 out of 10.

Bipolar II: The person who made this mod also has Bipolar and I have to say they did a great job! I love how the character goes through so many different moods associated with each cycle, and you can have combinations. For instance, you can experience both Energized and Anger or Enraged while in a Hypomanic state, and Very Sad and Tense (from feeling Empty) in a Depressive state. You can also experience mixed cycles with a combination of all moods. You can also do things like call the sadness hotline when you are depressed to help decrease your sadness. I really don’t have anything negative to say except be careful if you become Enraged while Hypomanic because you might suffer a cardiac arrest! I give this mod a 10 out of 10.

Autism: I also really liked this mod. I don’t have Autism, but from playing this mod I think I have some idea of what it might be like. I really love how you can become Inspired very easily and you can level up creative skills easily. I also like how you can become Stressed from being too stimulated and Tense from being around new people. I have found that journaling is very effective in helping to decrease the time you are in a negative mood. And if you are Stressed from being to stimulated you can go into a quiet area and that seems to help. I give this an 8 out if 10.

There are other mental health mods I have found on this forum, including Borderline Personality, Bipolar I, Social Anxiety, and Dissociative Personality Disorder. I would eventually like to play all of these. And I would like to search other forums to see if there are any more out there to play. I think it is great that people have decided to create these mods, because it can help educate others on what it is like to have a mental illness. And with more education comes more acceptance.
